Dr Dave gave the "Rennaissance to Rock" presentation to our Music and Music Industry Majors at Francis Marion University last week during our recital attendance/performance class, and we had a wonderful time.
It was a great synopsis of the guitar's history from the Oud to today's eclectic and electric instruments including period sheet music, and performances on period accurate instruments, capped off by a modern performance on a Line 6 Variax guitar.
Dr Reynolds' delivery was simultaneously educational and highly engaging, with lots of opportunity for interaction and participation.
The students especially loved the "Show and Tell" portion of the demonstration where they could touch and play the instruments for themselves.
